Education – Whether parents wish to send their child to a public school, charter school, private school, virtual, or home school, funding or tax incentives should follow the child to provide the education parents believe will best serve their child and family situation. Critical race theory should not be taught or promoted in schools and a Parental Rights in Education Bill should be passed.
Election Integrity – Voters need to feel confident that an election is secure. All legal citizens who qualify to vote in Wisconsin should be allowed to have their voice heard through in-person voting or absentee ballots. Mail-in ballots and ballot drop boxes should not be allowed.
Abortion – Innocent life should be protected under state law and I will work to ensure the unborn have their rights heard. Roe v. Wade (1973) was an incorrect decision by that Supreme Court, it should be overturned, and the issue given back for the states to determine. Exceptions for victims of incest and rape, or to save the life of the mother, should be allowed.
Government – The role of the government is best utilized as it gets closer to the citizens it oversees. The issues that citizens face in rural Wisconsin are much different than those faced in our larger cities. The government needs to allow regulations to sunset and for entrepreneurs to develop their businesses to help our economy recover.
2nd Amendment – As a gun owner, I fully support the 2nd Amendment. The US Constitution protects “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms” and that right “shall not be infringed.” Citizens should be allowed to keep arms for hunting, recreation, or protection purposes.
Taxes – Wisconsin has the third highest tax rate in the Midwest. I will work towards reducing taxes for working citizens and seek to expand child tax credits for families.
Law Enforcement – Having worked alongside police officers as a community service officer while attending UW-Oshkosh, I understand the vital role police provide to keeping the community safe. I stand behind those who wear the badge.
Energy – As gas prices soar, it is clear the country needs to continue to produce oil and gas. Green energy should also be developed further to create sources of energy including hydro, wind, solar, and nuclear, but we cannot ignore the country still needs fossil fuels.
